June Highlights

I cannot believe it is already JULY! I have been in Belize now for over 10 months...CRAZY. I have not been the best blogger recently. In order to make up for it, here are some highlights from the wonderful month of June 2010:
  • I returned from Hawaii
  • Read 5 books
  • Finished our (Christine, Kristen and I) After School Reading Group
  • Discovered a scorpion on my toothbrush, he had a short life
  • Began REALLY studying for the Foreign Service Officer Exam (it's in October) also registered for it
  • Watched and heard lots of talk about the World Cup (futbol is HUGE here)
  • Rainy season is here to stay, I LOVE IT. I sleep so well when it's raining outside
  • Ate 1/2 a watermelon in a day...it's the season and it was just so good
  • Practiced hurricane consolidation (all peace corps volunteers must travel to Belmopan) to prepare for hurricane season
  • 1 day later the beginning of Hurricane Season, Tropical Storm Alex (turned into Hurricane Alex) swept right over Belize
  • For the first time I baked banana muffins from scratch
I am very much looking forward to July, Irene is coming next Tuesday. I am sure we will have some awesome adventures.
